This tool generates filled polygons with given corners. Select the corners of the area, and double click the last point. The sides are hidden, when the polygon has thin thickness in the properties dialog.
The value of the filled polygon is its area. The sign of the value depends on the orientation of the corners.
Even, if the current thickness is normal, polygons will be created thin (press the ctrl button at the last point to avoid this). If the sides of the polygons are needed, they should be constructed as line segments. Thus they can be used for further construction steps in a meaningful way. By the same reason, automatic intersections are switched off by default for polygons. Points fixed on polygons can migrate around any side of the polygon, which is usually not what the user wants. To change both settings, use the properties dialog.
